PLN Connects Free Electricity To 264 Underprivileged Families In Majalengka, West Java

PT PLN (Persero) distributed New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL) from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to 264 underprivileged families in Majalengka, West Java.

This assistance is a form of state presence to increase the electrification ratio and realize energy justice for the entire community.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo said, the BPBL program is a tangible manifestation of the state's presence in realizing fair energy.

"Therefore, PLN will continue to support the government's efforts to increase the electrification ratio (RE) so that all people can access sufficient and reliable electricity, especially in the leading, outermost, and underdeveloped regions (3T) so as to increase economic movement," he told the media, Tuesday, May 30.

He explained that this program is a manifestation of the 5th precept, namely Social Justice for All Indonesian People, PLN is optimistic that the presence of electricity can improve people's lives.

"Therefore, this program will continue to be accelerated and PLN will join hands, synergize, collaborate and step together to carry out this noble task," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Director of Engineering and the Electricity Environment of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, M. P. Dwi Nugroho said that the BPBL program in Majalengka Regency was spread over 22 sub-districts.

"For West Java itself, it is planned that it will receive an allocation of 22.000 households receiving BPBL in 2023," explained Dwi.

Deputy Regent of Majalengka, Tarsono D Mardiana said that in the era of digitizing the presence of electricity is very much needed. Every movement of the need for electricity, be it industry, business and the use of household needs.

"Thank you for this assistance program so that the poor in Majalengka Regency can enjoy electricity installation services for free," said Tarsono.

Member of Commission VII DPR RI Nurhasan Zaidi expressed his appreciation for the realization of the BPBL program this time. According to him, the progress of an area must begin by building human resources where it requires the availability of access to electricity.

"In order for Majalengka to advance, human resources must be advanced, advanced with electricity to be bright. The BPBL program is extraordinary, I am sure that by continuing the Majalengka process, it will progress in the future," said Nurhasan.
