PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero) claims to have successfully presented electricity without flickering during the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), 9-11 May 2023.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo was quoted from a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday, explaining that on the first day the electricity system in Labuan Bajo was very reliable and electricity in locations where the ASEAN Summit was held was also present without flickering.

The peak electricity load in Labuan Bajo is on the first day to the second day according to predictions and is still under the power of the Flores electricity system, namely 105 megawatts (MW).

"Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to be able to participate in the success of the 42nd ASEAN Summit. The success of this event will open the eyes of the whole world that Indonesia is always ready to host an important meeting to discuss the future of the world," said Darmawan, who is also on guard. directly monitor the electrical operational system during the ASEAN Summit.

Not only reliable electricity supply, he also said that the use of electric vehicles during the ASEAN Summit was successful. PLN serves the charging of hundreds of electric vehicles from delegates, security, and operations of the ASEAN Summit through public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU).

"As of Thursday (11/5) night, there have been 1,852 electric vehicle charging at SPKLU with a total power of 14,639 kilowatt hour (kWh)," said Darmawan.

Previously, PLN provided 108 SPKLUs to support the implementation of the ASEAN Summit. This number is provided to meet the needs of 371 delegation vehicles and operational needs.

Darmawan said the success of the ASEAN Summit was also due to collaboration between PLN, the NTT Provincial Government, the West Manggarai Regency Government, the TNI-Polri, and all stakeholders.

"The success of the ASEAN Summit is of course due to the involvement of all parties who support PLN to be able to provide the best electricity service for this event. This is a joint achievement in making the nation proud," he said.
