PLN Ensures Electricity Without Flickering At The ASEAN 2023 Summit In Labuan Bajo

PT PLN (Persero) continues to strengthen the transmission and electricity distribution network in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to ensure electricity supply without flickering or zero down time (ZDT) during the ASEAN Summit.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN had built various network utilities in the Labuan Bajo Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) to deliver electricity without flickering.

"This step is a form of PLN's commitment to support Labuan Bajo, which is a super priority tourism destination area and will host the ASEAN Summit," Darmawan said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, May 3.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Main Unit for the East Nusa Tenggara Region (UIW NTT), I Gede Agung Sindu Putra, said that currently electricity in Labuan Bajo is supplied from the Flores system through a transmission network of 150 kilovolts (kv) and 70 kv with 99.18 megawatts (mw) capable of supply and a peak load of 84.43 mw.

PLN, he said, is trying to maintain the reliability of electricity in Labuan Bajo by rehabilitating distribution networks in the electricity system.

"Rehabilitation of the distribution network is divided into several stages of work such as network dismantling and sliding work, pole dismantling work, and the work of withdrawing the 20 kv medium voltage line distribution network (SKTM) in the super premium area," said Sindu.

Currently, PLN has adjusted the mid-voltage air channel (SUTM) to SKTM, replaced the post distribution substation into a main unit portal ring substation (RMU), and a low-voltage air line (SUTR) into a low-voltage cable channel (SKTR).

In addition, PLN will also continue to support government programs by meeting the electricity needs for health centers in remote sub-districts in several districts in NTT.

"In NTT, especially the Flores electricity system, PLN continues to develop new renewable energy plants (EBT), namely 30 megawatt peak (MWp) solar power plants (PLTS) with large capacity batteries," said Sindu.
