Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Construction Needs Funds Of Up To IDR 30 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of PUPR is targeting the completion of the construction of toll roads from Probolinggo to Situbondo, in order to support the smooth running of traffic on the North Coast or Pantura.

"This Pantura road has two corridors or main routes, namely toll roads and non-toll roads. The toll road has now also run to East Probolinggo and we will finish it up to Basuki. We are also in the calculational stage to get to at least Situbondo," said Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian in an RDP with Commission V DPR RI in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 12.

However, Hedy said, this requires full support from the government, considering that the Ministry of PUPR also has a target for the construction of toll roads to Banyuwangi, East Java.

"Because to complete it to Banyuwangi, we need government support of almost Rp. 30 trillion," he said.

However, Hedy did not deny that his party was still waiting for directions from the government regarding the completion of the toll road from Probolinggo to Banyuwangi.

"It seems that there has been no decision whether the state will do that," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR said that the absorption of roads on the North Coast Line (Pantura) had reached 96.15 percent.

This indicates that about 4 percent of the total road length or about 60-70 km from the road is in a problematic condition, aka damaged.

The Pantura Line referred to by Bina Marga is a road from Merak to Banyuwangi, with a total length of 1,716 km.
