Coal Trucks Are Prohibited Through The Sumatra Cross Road To D+7 Lebaran

The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation prohibits coal transport trucks from crossing the national road across Sumatra on D-7 and D+7 of Eid Al-Fitr.

The reason is to prevent severe congestion and provide opportunities for the community to be able to travel back and forth smoothly.

"I have conveyed it to the Jambi Regional Police and I have conveyed it to the governors, D-7 and D+7, none of the coal vehicles are creeping on the road," said Director General of Land Transportation (Hubdat) of the Ministry of Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno in a Hearing Meeting with Commission V DPR RI quoted Thursday, March 30.

Hendro also firmly asked Jambi Governor Al Haris to issue the same rules so that the severe congestion that occurred some time ago would not happen again.

"Just close it sir! If you can't close it, I'll close it later. Don't let who makes the rules who solves it!" he said firmly.

Hendro emphasized that this ban was also based on the many violations committed by truck drivers transporting coal as reflected in the high action taken by the Directorate General of Hubdat over the past three months.

"Until this month, 217 have been taken action and all of them are excess tonnage. The excess is not 1 or 2 tons. 8 tons of rules on the road are loaded up to 16 tons," explained Hendro.

His party also continues to coordinate with the Jambi Regional Police and related parties to regulate road users who violate the rules.

"Every day I coordinate the field of prosecution," he concluded.
