After The Fire, The MT Kristin Vessel Leaned At The Lombok PDS Port

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) reports that it has successfully carried out salvage or assistance activities for the ship MT Kristin, which now has docked at the pier of PT Pantai Damai Sejahtera (PDS), West Lombok.

"Thanks to the collaboration between PIS, Pelindo, and Pertamina Trans Kontinental, the MT Kristin ship was able to dock this afternoon at the PDS pier for further processing by the competent authorities," said the Director of Operations of PIS Brilian Perdana, quoted on Tuesday, March 28.

Brilian explained that PIS is ready to cooperate with the authorities for the investigation process and other processes needed to thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire incident on the MT Kristin ship.

As is known, the ship MT Kristin is a ship owned by PT Hanlyn Jaya Mandiri, which was rented by PIS to transport fuel cargo in the form of Pertalite to the Integrated Ampenan Terminal and Fuel Terminal Sanggaran.

The position of PIS in this case is as a ship tenant, where in the lease agreement or PIS charter always emphasizes to ship owners to prioritize HSSE aspects in operations related to crew safety and ship cargo cargo cargo cargo.

PIS is currently coordinating intensely with Basarnas, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia (KLHK), KSOP, and others for further countermeasures, including anticipation of an oil spill from the incident.
