JAKARTA - Instagram Head Adam Mosseri finally answered a lot of questions from users asking how to delete their Threads account without deleting the main Instagram account.

This response came after previously viral confession of a netizen saying that we cannot delete Threads accounts unless we delete their Instagram accounts as well.

Based on what Mosseri said on her Threads account, for now users can only hide profiles, delete content, and set the Threads account to a privacy mode.

"I got a few questions about deleting your account. To clarify, you can deactivate your Threads account, which hides your Threads profile and content, you can set your profile to private, and you can delete every Threads post all without deleting your Instagram account," Mosseri wrote.

But, because Threads is under Instagram and integrated directly with the social media, for now you can't delete your Threads account. However, the company is working on fixing the problem.

"Threads is empowered by Instagram, so currently there is only one account, but we are looking for ways to separate your Threads account," he concluded.

Since it was first launched, Threads has taken the attention of the whole world community. It only took 18 hours after its launch, Threads managed to attract 30 million registrants.
