Sergio Perez Doesn't Care About Rumors Of His Fate In Red Bull Racing

JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing driver, Sergio Perez, is in the spotlight. His recent declining performance has led to speculation over his future.

In the English Formula 1 (F1) Grand Prix (GP) race, last weekend, Perez failed to get on the podium. The Mexican only finished in sixth position.

In the qualifying session, his achievements were even worse. He only occupies the 15th position. This is the fifth successive failure to penetrate the third qualifying round.

Rumors emerged that Red Bull Racing will begin to consider Perez's fate next season. However, the rider doesn't seem to bother.

"I've been in Formula 1 for 13 years. I've seen everything. So, I'm not worried about all that," said Perez as quoted by AFP via Antara.

"I want to focus on getting my form back on track, and make sure I can continue to enjoy every race this season."

He also admitted that he remained enthusiastic and confident about his future, despite reports that Red Bull was preparing to find a replacement.

According to him, the team remains a supportive home regardless of what the final results of each Grand Prix he plays.

"I have the full support of Helmut (Marko) and Christian (Horner). The whole team fully supports me, they know what I can do, they know my potential, and they fully support me."

After the British Grand Prix race his teammate won, Max Verstappen, Perez remained second in the drivers' standings. Perez trailed by 99 points from Verstappen.

"No (attemptive) succeeded today. I started well, but then I was hit by (Esteban) Ocon on the first lap and I lost my position, making it difficult for recovery," he said.
