JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta announced Marko Simic was included in the team squad for Liga 1 2023/2024. The player from Krosia was recruited under a two-year contract.
This is a reunion between the two. As is known, Simic had previously been in Persija uniform.
He started the first period in the Kemayoran Tiger uniform from 2018 to 2022. Now he is back to complete a previously unresolved mission.
"I am very happy to be back at Persija again. There are still targets that I have targeted for Persija. I am also very interested in being involved in the big plan of the team that is currently being built," Simic said as quoted by Antara.
Simic has presented a number of titles in the first period with the Kemayoran Tigers. Among them are the 2018 President's Cup title, Boost Fix Super Cup 2018, Liga 1 2018, and the 2021 Menpora Cup.

The former spearhead of the Croatian U-21 team has ambitions to return to provide the best performance for Persija.
"On this second occasion, I must be able to give the best for Persija as the team gave it to me," he said.
"I don't want to talk about the past. Right now, my goal is to give the best for the team," continued the player.
Of course, Simic's presence in the Kemayoran Tigers is a breath of fresh air, especially for coach Thomas Doll. Because Simic is one of the productive strikers, he is listed as the top scorer for the 2018 President's Cup (11 goals), the 2019 Liga 1 top scorer (28), and the 2020 East Java Governor's Cup top scorer (6).
In total, during his time at Persija Jakarta in the 2018-2022 range, Marko Simic has made 91 appearances with a score of 61 goals. Simic during his time in Indonesia has a high goal ratio of 0.67 goals per match.
Simic became the signing of the new Persija player in the transfer market this season, after names like Rizky Ridho, Akbar Juliansyah and players from Japan Ryo Matsumura had been brought in earlier.
