PDIP's Dismissal Is Considered To Have Sent His Image And Reputation

Political communication observer from Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, said that the reason for the dismissal gave a bad record in Jokowi's political career. He was even accused of abusing power by intervening in the Constitutional Court (MK).

"As a former president, the reason for this dismissal greatly damages his image and reputation. Jokowi during his tenure is considered flawed because of his intervention in the law, which is not his authority. This accusation is clearly very detrimental to Jokowi," said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 17.

In addition, Jokowi was also declared to have violated the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART), code of ethics, and party discipline. According to Jamiluddin, this reflects that Jokowi is considered not loyal to the party that made his name.

"Jokowi can be perceived as a figure who is not perpendicular to the party's decision. In fact, for PDIP cadres, being upright is the main principle that must be held," he said.

Jamiluddin assessed that this dismissal would affect the views of other political parties on Jokowi. The status as a cadre who is considered not loyal will be taken into consideration for other parties, especially to give confidence in strategic positions.

"Disloyal cadres will certainly make it difficult for Jokowi to be accepted into other parties. No party wants to be betrayed by its cadres, especially if Jokowi is placed in a strategic position," said Jamiluddin.

He added that if there were parties that would accept Jokowi, it would likely only be driven by Jokowi's loyalists who are currently in several parties in the KIM Plus coalition (Indonesian Forward Coalition Plus).

"However, Jokowi's placement in a strategic position will most likely be rejected by the party elite," he concluded.

Jokowi's dismissal was announced directly by the Chairman of the PDIP Honorary Division, Komarudin Watubun, on Monday (16/12/2024). In an announcement witnessed by the PDIP DPP staff, Komarudin said that this dismissal was a direct order from the PDIP General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Bersama ini, tanggal 16 Desember 2024, saya mendapat perintah langsung dari Ketua Umum Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan untuk mengumumkan secara resmi, sesuai dengan Anggaran Dasar dan Anggaran Rumah Tangga partai," ujar Komarudin dalam sebuah video yang beredar.

Sanksi pemecatan Jokowi tertuang dalam Surat Keputusan Nomor 1649/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024. PDIP juga melarang Jokowi melakukan aktivitas atau menduduki jabatan apapun yang mengatasnamakan partai.

"As of the issuance of this dismissal letter, the PDI-P DPP has no relationship and is not responsible for everything that was done by Brother Joko Widodo," said Komarudin.

This dismissal created a large wave of public opinion. As a president who was once considered a symbol of PDIP's success, this decision is a significant moment that will likely continue to be remembered in Indonesia's political history.
