Rocky Gerung Policed To Polda Metro, Not About Jokowi's Humiliation

JAKARTA - Academic Rocky Gerung and constitutional law expert Refly Harun were reported to Polda Metro Jaya. The alleged crime is not about insulting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), but hate speech to the spread of fake news.

"That's right (reported hate speech, incitement, and spread of fake news)," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to VOI, Thursday, August 3.

Allegations of hate speech, incitement, and spread of fake news are categorized as ordinary offenses. Therefore, Polda Metro accepted it and is currently starting to be investigated.

Ordinary offenses are criminal cases that can be processed without any approval or report from the party who has been harmed or the victim.

Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya has received three police reports (LP) with reported Rocky Gerung and Refly Harun.

The first report was made by the United Indonesia Volunteers, on Monday, July 31, 2023. The report is registered with the number LP/B/4459/VII/2023/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya.

Then, a day later, the former Democrat Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaen also reported Rocky Gerung and Refly Harun to Polda Metro Jaya. The report is registered with the number LP/B/4465/VIII/2023/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya.

Third, reporting is carried out by someone representing the Democratic Volunteer Group. The report is registered with the number LP/B/4504/VIII/2023/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya, dated August 2, 2023.

"It is being followed up with an investigation to find and find an incident suspected of being a criminal act to determine whether or not an investigation can be carried out," said Ade.

Meanwhile, the three reports started with podcast content broadcast on YouTube Refly Harun. Rocky Gerung's statement at the event was considered to contain elements of insulting Jokowi and unethical.

Some of Rocky Gerung's words or statements that are considered to contain hate speech are;

"Once Jokowi loses his power he becomes an ordinary person, no one cares later. But Jokowi's ambition is to maintain his legacy. He offers IKN, pacing to the coalition, to find clarity on his fate," said Rocky in the video.

"He thinks his fate is not our fate, it's b****n yang t*l, sekaligus b***ng*n mengguruh. Kalau dia b***ng*n smart, dia mau terima berbahan dengan Jumhur Hidayat. Ajaib, b**ng*n tapi mengguruh," lanjut Rocky mengkritik Jokowi.
