Mulsunadi, Suspect in Basarnas Case, Undergoing Examination at KPK Today

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said a suspect in the bribery case for procurement of equipment at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) fulfilled investigators' summons today, Monday, July 31. He is the Main Commissioner of PT Multi Grafika Cipta Sejati, Mulsunadi Gunawan.

"Presented at the Corruption Eradication Commission accompanied by Attorney Juniver Girsang," said the Head of the KPK Reporting Section, Ali Fikri, to journalists in a written statement, Monday, July 31.

Investigators are still conducting investigations. Ali said that Mulsunadi's rights as a suspect, including explaining the case against him, would be given.

"The investigative team immediately conducted an examination and we made sure that the rights of the suspect were fulfilled in accordance with the applicable legal provisions as other KPK commissioners," he said.

Previously, Mulsunadi was named a suspect by the KPK along with the Managing Director of PT Intertekno Grafika Sejati Marilya and the Managing Director of PT Kindah Abadi Utama Roni Aidil. The three were entangled in an arrest operation (OTT) on Tuesday, July 24.

Apart from that, the anti-corruption commission also announced Air Marshal Henri Alfiandi who is the Head of National Search and Rescue Agency with Basarnas Administrative Coordinator Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto as suspects in receiving bribes. He is suspected of reaping fees known as command funds of up to IDR 88.3 billion.

The money is pocketed by private parties who want to work on projects at their institutions from 2021-2023. Reception is through Afri.
