The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) is still opening up space for the Acehnese who have not been registered to apply for status as victims of gross human rights violations from three cases that have been recognized by the government in Aceh.

"Komnas HAM has opened a space so that victims who have not been registered can submit status as victims of gross human rights violations," said Head of Komnas HAM Aceh Representative Sepriady Utama as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.

Sepriady said the filing room was limited to only three cases that had been recognized by the government, namely Rumoh Geudong Pidie, Simpang KKA North Aceh and the Jambo Keupok South Aceh incident.

Komnas HAM has completed the investigation report (BAP) on 106 victims of gross human rights violations from the three cases. Therefore, his party is still opening up space for victims who have not been registered.

"So Komnas HAM has opened space to apply for status as a victim of gross human rights violations from the three cases, so that verification can then be carried out in order to obtain recovery rights," he said.

Sepriady explained, to make a proposal, the victim must send a letter of application or statement of the victim of a gross human rights violation to Komnas HAM, it can be submitted directly or through a complaint on the Komnasham.go.id website.

Later, after the file is received and the input of data is carried out through the system, it can then be verified to determine whether the applicant is the victim directly or the family.

"Recently, we did some verification of victims of gross human rights violations that have not been in the BAP in the case of Simpang KKA. So this continues, and that request is our basis," he said.

Komnas emphasized that the serious human rights problem could not be resolved alone by Komnas Aceh, but needed the support of all parties.

"I think the settlement of victims of gross human rights violations requires our efforts together with all stakeholders, the support of all parties is needed," said Sepriady.
