BANDUNG - The Cimahi Resort Police investigated the incident that caused hundreds of people to be poisoned, allegedly due to eating food distributed at a recess event by a member of the Cimahi City DPRD.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cimahi Police, AKP Luthfi Olot Gigantara, said that currently his party is gathering evidence and information related to the mass poisoning incident that occurred in the Padasuka Village area, Cimahi City.
"According to the direction of the Cimahi Police Chief, we formed a joint team to handle mass poisoning in Padasuka. We are investigating, we are gathering evidence and information on the case," said Luthfi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.
The police have examined several witnesses related to the mass poisoning case and clarified to related parties including the Head of Padasuka Village and the Secretariat of the Cimahi City DPRD.
"So far, five people have been examined, including the Setwan and the Head of the Padasuka Village. Later, we will inform you the results again because until now we are still in the process of collecting data and documents," said Luthfi.
The plan is that the police will also examine the food service provider (kateering) used by the committee at the recess event for the Cimahi City DPRD member named Eddy Sofyan.
"In the future, for catering parties who provide food, we are still gathering information from Setwan and Lurah, in the future it will certainly develop again, including those who carry out their activities," said Luthfi.
In addition, the police are also still waiting for the results of the test of food samples currently being carried out by the Regional Health Lab (Labkesda) of West Java Province.
"The taking of food samples from the event itself has been carried out by the Cimahi City Health Office, the samples have also been submitted to the Labkesda for lab testing, we are also waiting together," said Luthfi.
