KPK OTT Basarnas Officials, Private Parties Also Arrested

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the hand arrest operation (OTT) did not only ensnare state officials. The private sector was also taken to the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta.

"The KPK team carried out arrests of state officials and private parties," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, July 25.

Ali said that one of the state administrators who was charged in the operation was an official at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas). They were entangled during the transaction and during the examination, it is still being carried out at this time.

"The team is still requesting information from the parties at the KPK's Red and White Building," he said.

Ali ensured that the examination would be carried out according to applicable regulations. Those affected by the KPK OTT will determine their status within 1x24 hours.

"Developments will be delivered tomorrow," he said.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said in a separate statement that OTT was held in the Jakarta and Bekasi areas. It is suspected that the transactions carried out are related to the procurement of goods and services.
