The General Election Commission (KPU) of East Jakarta (Jaktim) has asked the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) to facilitate the 2024 General Election logistics storage area (Pemilu). Chairman of the East Jakarta KPU Tedi Kurnia conveyed this during an audience with the East Jakarta Administrative City Administration Assistant Eka Darmawan at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office (Walkot), Cakung, Tuesday, July 18. He hopes that the facilities provided by the East Jakarta City Government can be used in September 2023.

The deadline, he said, was so that the KPU could use the facility for logistics distribution and ballot boxes to the locations of polling stations (TPS) in October 2023. This place will later be reused for the recapitulation of votes for the 2024 General Election in March 2024. "What we want is a Sports Center (GOR) or a large place because this is not only for logistics storage, but for vote calculations at the sub-district level," he said.

Asisten Pemerintahan Kota Administrasi Jaktim Eka Darmawan mengatakan, audiensi itu membahas fasilitas KPU Jaktim menjelang Pemilu 2024.Terutama, fasilitas tempat di 10 kecamatan di Jaktim seperti Gelanggang Remaja ataupun tempat untuk kepentingan KPU dalam menyukseskan Pemilu 2024."Kita membahas berkaitan dengan penempatan, fasilitas penyimpanan logistik di wilayah kecamatan masing-masing," ujarnya.Menurut dia, tempat yang akan disediakan harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan KPU sehingga pelaksanaan Pemilu 2024 di Jakarta Timur berjalan optimal."Terutama dalam rekapitulasi karena pendistribusian hasil Pemilu itu bisa jam 12 malam baru selesai dan ketika jam 1 malam, ini semua harus didukung dengan akses," kata Eka.
