Eid Al-Adha Long Holiday, Korlantas Polri Will Implement Contraflow On The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police will implement contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to anticipate overcrowding during the long Eid holiday from June 28 to July 2.

The scheme will only be implemented if it is deemed that there has been an increase in the number of vehicles.

Traffic engineering is carried out because it is predicted that there will be an increase in the flow of vehicles leading to Sumatra, Java, Bogor and Bandung.

"According to Jasa Marga's predictions, the Ministry of Transportation has increased, with this prediction, the Police, the Ministry of Transportation and stakeholders have prepared several alternatives for traffic engineering in Jakarta Cikampek itself, if the flow of PCR traffic ratio is close to 0.8, contra Flow traffic engineering will be carried out one lane, two lanes," said Dirgakkum Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Aan Suhanan at the NTMC Building, Wednesday, June 28.

In addition, traffic engineering will also be implemented on arterial roads. The scheme limits the transportation of three-axis and above goods.

This scheme has been implemented since Tuesday, June 27. It is hoped that with this regulation the arterial route can run smoothly and can accommodate private vehicles outside Jakarta.

"The restrictions, especially the transportation of goods axis 3 and above on 27 yesterday from 04.00 WIB to 00.00 WIB, then today starting at 00.00 we limit it to the 3rd axis and above," he said.

"Then when returning on June 2, 2023, Sunday, we will also limit the 3rd and upper axes on certain roads for smooth traffic flow during collective leave in Eid al-Adha in 2023," continued Aan.

For the latest traffic conditions, based on CCTV at NTMC Polri and Jasa Marga, there has been an increase in the flow since 06.00 WIB which entered the queue on the MBZ route. However, it is still in the category of smoothly crowded.

"The increase in currents starting at 06.00 is starting to increase, where queues occur on the MBZ flyover toll road entering the MBZ direction, but it is still in the category of smooth traffic engineering, meaning that it has not implemented traffic engineering, especially in Jakarta Cikampek," said Aan.
