"There are four new flight routes that we have opened this month from Batam to several regions," said PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB) President Director Pikri Ilham Kurnitsyah as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 3.

He said the four new flight routes were Batam-Bandung, Batam Yogyakarta, Batam-Makassar and Batam-Lombok.

With the opening of these four new flight routes, he said, his party will continue to strive to open routes for other flights, especially for the minimal flight route to eastern Indonesia.

"Flights to this eastern region that we are currently prioritizing to open immediately," he said.

Not only the eastern part, his party also targets flight routes from Hang Nadim Batam Airport to reach all provinces in Indonesia by 2023.

"Our target this year is how this flight from Batam can be connected to all provinces in Indonesia," he said.

His party will continue to strive so that domestic flight services are connected in every province in Indonesia. This aims to make Batam's economy grow faster.

So far, 20 flight routes have been reached by Hang Nadim Batam Airport.

Most of those that have been reached, he said, are the western part of Indonesia and central part of Indonesia. As for eastern Indonesia, it is targeted this year to be achieved.
