Hit By The Waves Of Cemara Beach, Fishermen From Jember Have Not Been Found

JEMBER - Secretary of the Jember Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Heru Widagdo said two fishermen who were missing when their boats were hit by waves on Cemara Beach, Mojomulyo Village, Jember Regency, East Java, had not been found until Sunday 21 afternoon. "Two fishermen who were declared missing, namely Ayub and Shodiq, both residents of Mojomulyo Village, Puger District, Jember Regency," he said in Jember. A boat with four fishermen being hit by the waves until it capsized when they were about to leave Prawangan Puger into the sea on Saturday, May 20 at 13.30 WIB, resulting in two people being successful and two people being declared missing. "Today the joint SAR team has been searching for missing fishermen victims until the afternoon, but has not yet found the victims of the marine accident," he said. He explained that the search process was carried out and was directly led by the Jember Basarnas which was divided into 2 SRU with details of SRU 1 conducting a search into the sea as far as 7 miles and SRU 2 conducted a search for the land comb. "The search process for missing victims was carried out until 16.00 WIB and the results were nil, so the search would resume on Monday or the third day. Hopefully the victim will be found soon," he said.

Heru appealed to the public or volunteers to remain in coordination and inform each other if they found victims of a marine accident to Basarnas and BPBD Jember. "We also urge the public and fishermen when going to sea to be careful, then be aware of the current high sea waves which are predicted to reach 1.3 to 3.5 meters," he said.
