Ticket Manual Is Implemented Again, National Police Chief Leaves Message To Traffic Unit: Not Receiving Fines

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reminded all traffic units not to impose illegal levies (extortion) on motorists.

The message was conveyed in connection with the re-imposition of traffic violations with a manual ticket.

"The message from the National Police Chief to take action on the spot and not to receive a fine, violators are obliged to attend the trial," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Tuesday, May 16.

In fact, strict sanctions will be given to members who are caught committing extortion or accepting bribes so that motorists are not ticketed manually.

Not only to its members, the National Police Chief also reminded the public not to try to bribe their staff. All violators must follow the rules that have been set.

"We urge the public not to try to bribe police officers, if they are found, they will be dealt with," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, said the reason behind the re-implementation of manual ticketing was because in several locations where Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) the number of violations had increased.

"Based on the results of evaluations in several areas since manual ticketing was not applied, in locations that were not reached by the ETLE camera there was an increase in violations," said Sandi.

The increasing types of violations fall into the dangerous category because of the potential for accidents.

However, it did not specify the form of the violation. However, it is likely to go against the flow because the violation has the potential to cause traffic accidents.

"So it is necessary to apply manual ticketing as an effort to support and strengthen the existence of ETLE ticketing, especially on roads where there are no ETLE cameras," he said.
