Mayor Of Surabaya: Officials Must Dare To Take Decisions Quickly

Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi emphasized that officials within the government, including the local city government, must have the courage to quickly make decisions in resolving problems in their area.

"This includes meeting and listening directly to various problems in the community even though they are not carried out formally," said Eri Cahyadi as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.

According to him, it is always emphasized that every time he meets with Surabaya City Government officials, starting from the Head of Regional Apparatus (PD), sub-district head to village head. Finally, Mayor Eri conveyed this to all sub-district and village heads at Balai RW XI, Wonokusumo, Semampir, Surabaya recently.

"So the village head must meet the RW. For example, coffee together, not just sitting in work in the office. I mean not working in the office, it's like this, coffee with residents. If there is no RT / RW in the morning, then the night can come," said Cak Eri.

Cak Eri said that the work of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Surabaya City Government was assessed based on performance results. This means that the working assessment is not based on the ASN hours that enter and return from his office.

"Because the work from the results of performance is not working hours. What are the benefits for the community, what are the impacts, what have been successfully cut there, what percentage poverty decreased. That's what we value," he said.

With a problem-solving model like this, Cak Eri hopes that there will be more closeness between the village head and the RT/RW management, LPMK to the Great Surabaya Cadre (KSH). Thus, each village head will have a problem-solving performance contract in each region.

In addition, Cak Eri also reminded that the Whatsapp group of the RT, RW, and LPMK Communication Forum (WAG Forkom) groups should not be used to discuss politics.

Because according to him, the Forkom group was created so that Surabaya City Government officials could be closer to their citizens. Thus, it is hoped that all problems in each region can be reported and resolved immediately.

"Once again, for the sake of the City of Surabaya, you can have different political views, you can have different choices, but don't reveal them in the Forkom group. I formed a Forkom group to convey that there are poor people, unemployed and so on. So let's spread solutions, be positive so there won't be a commotion of sak (brothers)," he said.
