SAMARINDA - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government allocated a budget of Rp. 18 billion for the improvement of provincial road infrastructure in Samarinda City in the 2023 Fiscal Year.
Head of the East Kalimantan Public Works, Spatial Planning and Public Housing (PUPR-Pera) Office Aji Muhammad Fitra Firnanda said the budget was for the repair of two provincial roads, namely Jalan Sultan Sulaiman, Sambutan Samarinda District and Jalan Pattimura (Teluku Bajau) Samarinda Seberang District.
"The two provincial roads have collapsed and we have budgeted for improvements in the East Kalimantan Regional Budget in 2023," said Nunda, his nickname, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
His party will speed up the construction of the two subsidence road points, so that the community can pass them.
"We will speed up the road repair work," he said.
He said the road construction at Sambutan had signed the project contract and was carried out in May 2023.
The value of the road work project is around Rp. 11 billion, sourced from the pure budget of the East Kalimantan Regional Budget.
"God willing, the road can be completed in a span of approximately six months," he said.
Nanda targets Jalan Sultan Sulaiman Sambutan, who was affected by the landslide, to be passed by motorists in November 2023.
"This project is also an urgent road infrastructure activity that must be pursued, and planned beforehand," he said.
The first step for the East Kalimantan Provincial Government is to conduct an early auction.
"Last year's achievement has not been maximized, therefore with early auctions it is a step to accelerate infrastructure development," he said.

The handling of the subsidence point is budgeted at around Rp. 7 billion to be handled by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government.
"We also allocated the road in Bajau Bay this year with a pure APBD, so we will try to catch up with the project work in 2023," said Nanda.
