JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius Fakhiri said his party received a report related to the persecution of Kiwirok District Head Abedeus Tepmul allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
Mathius confirmed that the incident occurred in the Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountains, Sunday (30/4), which was allegedly carried out by members of the Ngalum KKB Kupel.
"The head of Kiwirok District and his relatives are temporarily secured at residents' homes; and members of the TNI and Polri are on standby," said Mathius Fakhiri as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 1.
Based on reports received, when the incident occurred, the victim was with several family members looking for wood. Suddenly came the KKB member who was blocking and pointing the victim at him with a weapon.
The victim was also reportedly abused with a weapons popor until he was bruised and threatened so that people would not go to Delpem, Kiwi, Pelbib, and Lolim Villages.
