Asking People with Mental Disorders to Wear Negligee and Raped, PMKS Task Force Members in Karawang Fired

KARAWANG - The Karawang Regency Social Service, West Java, fired a social worker or member of the task force with social welfare problems (PMKS) for raping a person with mental disorders (ODGJ).

Acting Head of the Karawang Social Service, Ridwan Salam, said he would evaluate PMKS' handling after the rape case. Evaluation will be carried out starting from regulations, procedures for handling people with social welfare problems.

Apart from that, CCTV will also be installed at the Secretariat of the Association of Community Social Workers (IPSM) Karawang which is the location of the rape.

The Karawang IPSM Secretariat, which became the scene of the rape case, is a temporary shelter. Because the shelter owned by the Karawang Social Service has not been operated.

"The perpetrator of the rape with the initials HYD (40) or Masbro, has been dismissed as a social worker or member of the PMKS Task Force", he said in Karawang, Antara, Friday, April 14.

The rape case against ODGJ that occurred at the Karawang IPSM secretariat is now being handled by the police. The perpetrator has been arrested by the police from the Karawang Police.

The perpetrator with the initials HYD, a resident of Karawang, is a PMKS Task Force officer at the Karawang Social Service. Meanwhile, the victim with the initials HNA (20) is a resident of Bandung who was allegedly declared as ODGJ.

Karawang Police Chief, AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono said the incident started when the perpetrator managed to secure the victim and took him to the Karawang Social Services office.

"The perpetrator before carrying out the action first ordered the victim to clean himself and change his clothes into negligee clothes", said the police chief.

Then at around midnight, the perpetrator carried out his lecherous act.

The perpetrator's action was caught by a witness who was a Karawang Fire Department officer, because his office was next to the Office of Social Services. The perpetrator was then reported to the police.

"The exact incident occurred on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Karawang Regency Social Service office", said the police chief.

To be held accountable for his actions, the perpetrator is subject to article 285 in conjunction with 286 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum threat of 12 years in prison.
