Jombang Station To Be Crowded, Residents Choose Early Homecoming

JOMBANG - Hundreds of train passengers began to crowd Jombang Station, East Java, choosing for early homecoming for Idul Fitri 2023.

Deputy Head of the Jombang Train Station Tomi Dwi said that the volume of train passengers had started to increase since April 6, 2023.

"This has started to increase the number of passengers. For long-distance train passengers, for example, there was an increase of more than 500 passengers, whereas on normal days there were only around 300 passengers. Meanwhile for local trains up to 800 passengers got off, an increase compared to normal days which only around 200 people to 500 passengers," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 9.

He said, for the Eid 2023 transportation period, it was set to start April 12, 2023, to May 3, 2023.

Prospective passengers can order tickets available on the KAI Access application.

PT KAI (Persero) Daop 7 Madiun has prepared four regular trains and one additional Eid train, departing from Daop 7 Madiun, including one that passes at Jombang Station.

The train's capacity for seats is 55,900 seats or seats.

Meanwhile, there are 23 regular trains and five additional trains running in the Daop 7 Madiun area heading for Jakarta, Bandung, and Jember, with the capacity provided during the Eid transportation period as many as 219,237 seats.

For ordering Lebaran train tickets, PT KAI has opened on 26 February 2023 (D-45) and additional Eid trains have also opened reservations on 13 March 2023 (D-30).

PT KAI has also created a 2023 homecoming discount program by providing discounted train ticket prices of up to 20 percent for train departures for the period April 14-17 2023.

A total of 31,300 KAI discount tickets are provided for long-distance executive, business, and economy-class trains.

The public can also purchase these discounted tickets on April 9-13 2023 on each of these days, which will open as many as 6,260 discount tickets.

Purchasing discounted tickets can also be made on the KAI Access application, the kai.id website, and all ticket sales partners who work officially with KAI.

Daop 7 Madiun also appealed to the public to be able to plan their trips well, because train tickets for the Eid transportation period are still sufficiently available.

If the desired train ticket has run out, customers can choose an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining train schedules that are continuous.

Izzatul Hasanah, one of the train passengers, said she and her friends deliberately went home early.

This student at one of the Islamic boarding schools in Jombang said that her homecoming was carried out earlier, apart from the fact that the activities at the Islamic boarding school were off, she wanted to spend more time with her family ahead of the 2023 Eid Al-Fitr.

"Going home now so that I can stay at home for a long time, especially since the cottage activities are also on vacation. I like to take the train, because the time is certain and of course, there are no traffic jams," said Izzatul Hasanah.

She said she went home with five of her colleagues. Even though they are on the same train, their destination is not the same.

Izzatul Hasanah is grateful, to be able to get a train ticket so she can go home soon.
