Indonesian Survey Institute: The Majority Of Jokowi's Voters Still Support Ganjar Pranowo

JAKARTA - The Executive Director of the Indonesian Survey Institute, Djayadi Hanan said that the majority of Joko Widodo's voters in the 2019 presidential election still chose Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate. This can be seen from the latest LSI national survey from 31 March to 4 April 2023.

"Jokowi and Maruf Amin's voters tend to choose Ganjar Pranowo while there are still many," said Djayadi in a release broadcast via YouTube, Sunday (9/4/2023).

Djayadi revealed that Jokowi's voters who voted for Ganjar currently reached 39.3 percent.

From the party side, it is also known that the majority of PDIP voters chose Ganjar as a presidential candidate. The percentage reached 50.2 percent. Ganjar also received great support from voters such as PPP (42.9 percent), PKB (32.9 percent), Golkar (25.3 percent), to Democrats (23.8 percent).

The target population for the LSI survey is Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over or married and owning a telephone/cellphone, approximately 83% of the total national population. The survey was held from 31 March to 4 April 2023.

The sample selection was carried out through the random digit dialing (RDD) method. RDD is a technique of selecting a sample through a random telephone number generation process.

Using the RDD technique, a sample of 1,229 respondents was selected through a random telephone number generation process, validation, and screening.

The survey's margin of error is estimated at ±2.9% at the 95% confidence level, assuming simple random sampling. Interviews with respondents were conducted via telephone by trained interviewers.
