JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) ensures that 596 kilometers (km) of the Trans Sumatra (JTTS) toll road, which is managed by this company, are ready to be crossed by travelers.

In addition, travelers are advised to ensure that they are physically in prime condition before driving and if they feel sleepy or tired to immediately rest in the rest area that has been provided, because microsleep is a fairly crude factor on toll roads.

"Especially on the two longest sections when starting the trip at JTTS, namely the Bakter (140 km) and Terpeka (189 km) toll roads," said Koentjoro.

Koentjoro said that the increase in new sections operating this year further adds to the length of the homecoming path that can be passed by the community.

These sections include the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar section with a length of 140 km, the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section with a length of 189 km, the Palembang-Indralaya section with a length of 21.9 km, the Pekanbaru-Dumai section with a length of 131 km, the Medan-Binjai section with a length of 17.3 km, the Binjai-Langsa Section 1 (Binjai-Stabat) with a length of 11.8 km.

Then, the Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 2, 3 & 4 (Seulimeum-Blang Bintang) segment is 35.8 km and 2 (two) segments that were operated at the end of last year, namely the Pekanbaru-Padang Section 1 (Pekanbaru-Bangkinang) along 31 km and the Bengkulu-Taba Tanjung section along 17.8 km.

In the 2019 homecoming season before the pandemic, the JTTS operating only reached 329 km, now the JTTS length has reached 597 km or an increase of 268 km in a period of four years.

Hutama Karya has prepared as many as 21 rest areas with complete facilities in the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Section and the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Section with parking capacity of more than 3000 vehicles, 1,106 toilets, an additional 659 toilets, 11 gas stations locations, and six SPKLU locations as well as four temporary rest areas in the Pekanbaru-Dumai Section with facilities that are no less complete than the permanent rest area.

This year, Hutama Karya has also prepared a number of toll roads that will be operated functionally, among others, namely the Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 5 & 6 (Bang Bintang-Baitussalam) along 13 km, the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Section 2 (Stabat-Kuala Bingai) section for 7.9 km and the Indralaya-Prabumulih section for 63.5 km.

"The plan is for these sections to be operated functionally from April 15 to April 30, 2023, but at this time we are still preparing all facilities and services so that they can comply with applicable standards, specifically for the Indralaya-Prabumulih section, especially KM 66-KM 73 a contraflow scheme will be implemented," he added.
