Police Hunt For Owners Of 500 Liters Of Capacity Cars That Caught Fire While Eating Fuel In Samarinda

Samarinda Police are hunting for fire car owners allegedly due to the practice of eating subsidized fuel oil (BBM) on Jalan Pulau Sulawesi, Samarinda City.

"Currently, officers in the field are still pursuing the owner of the burning fuel swab truck," said Samarinda Police Chief Commissioner Ary Fadli in Samarinda, Thursday, April 6, as reported by Antara.

The police have examined a number of witnesses in the field and have gathered information for the investigation of the case.

"Our members have processed the crime scene (TKP) and the burning car has been fitted with police lines," said the Police Chief.

Based on observations of the condition of the car after the fire sold out, it can be seen that the tank is quite large in size, the modified results which are estimated to be able to load around 500 liters of fuel.

"Until now, we are still looking for car owners because according to information from residents around the crime scene, at the time of the incident the driver was no longer there," said Ary.

Previously, the Samarinda City Police Commissioner Tri Satria Firdaus said that his party received a report about the burning car incident on Jalan Pulau Sulawesi, Samarinda City, on Tuesday, April 4, at 22.10 WITA.

After receiving the report, a number of police officers went straight to the location to help escort firefighters who tried to extinguish the blaze so as not to spread to the surrounding buildings.

"There were six injured victims, including journalists who are currently being treated at the hospital," said Satria.

The incident also heard a very loud explosion. From a number of video recordings circulating on social media, it shows that the explosion came from a drainage that contained a spill of fuel from the burning car.

It is suspected that temporarily, cars with modified tanks usually buy pertalite fuel at gas stations not far from the scene.
