JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BUMD) will add requirements in the assessment of the appointment of BUMD directors or commissioners who will be appointed.

This was done so that the DKI Provincial Government would no longer miss appointing BUMD bosses who turned out to be involved in legal cases such as Kuncoro Wibowo.

Two months appointed as President Director of PT Transjakarta, it was only revealed that Kuncoro was a suspect in alleged corruption in the distribution of social assistance (bansos).

Head of the BUMD Center for Strategic Policy and Services for the DKI Jakarta BUMD Development Agency, Wahyudi, said that now prospective BUMD administrators are required to include a criminal-free certificate from the court.

"For the candidate for management that we will test, we ask to add a letter from the district court stating that he is not in a legal position in court," Wahyudi told reporters, Tuesday, April 4.

"So, we can get confidence that he is clear from the court because if he has a legal status, it is all registered in court. From the police, the prosecutor's office, all kinds of things end up in court," he continued.

Then, BP BUMD DKI will also cooperate with the private sector in profiling prospective BUMD administrators who will be appointed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"In the future, we will cooperate with independent institutions to conduct additional profiling of prospective company management," said Wahyudi.

This external profiling team will later help check the background of prospective BUMD administrators with more complete data, starting from the existence or absence of legal cases that dragged the board candidate, performance in the previous career, to communication relations with company colleagues.

Wahyudi said that the use of third parties as a profiling team was new in the process of assessing candidates for high-ranking government-owned companies. However, the team has often been included in the profiling of candidate leaders in private companies.
