JAKARTA - The book collection of the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts will be auctioned off later this year.

The collection features a number of the first editions of some of the world's most iconic books, including The Great Gatsby by F Scott totaled and Arthur Conan Doyle's The SOUND Of The Baskervilles.

The books will be auctioned on September 28-29, and will be presented in London, New York, and Los Angeles before sales.

The signed book The Great Gatsby will be sold for between 200-300 thousand pounds, while a collection of jazz memorabilia Watts will also be sold.

Discussing the items, Watts' official biographist Paul Sexton said the drummer was excited to have the items.

"He appreciates his time at home and he will read on the street, so literature is a very important part of his performance," Sexton was quoted as saying by NME on Tuesday.

"I don't think he got the items, because he knows it's very valuable. (For that) he is very satisfied to have these great works by tracking them, with the help of experts, the original first edition," he added.

Meanwhile, it was revealed last year that the next Rolling Stones album will feature the drum game of their late sticksman, Watts.

According to The Sun, guitarist Ronnie Wood said the new album The Rolling Stones will be released next summer. The album will have several Watts drums combined with tour drummer Steve Jordan.

Watts died last year at the age of 80. He has been playing drums with iconic rock'n'roll bands since their formation in the early 60s.
