JAKARTA - Guitarist and frontman of the band Sheila On 7, Eross Candra, assessed the importance of policies that limit the use of artificial intelligence (AI) related to the world, namely the music industry.
"Wow, (the AI development) is that scary," Eross said with a laugh while interviewed by Antara on the sidelines of the inauguration of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia's new office at CIBIS Park Jakarta, Monday.
The guitarist considers that at this time, the quality development of AI is not yet at an alarming level. However, he thinks that this does not mean describing the good conditions in the future.
"If you look at the progress that was not there before, then the first step is like this, it's very threatening. It's actually a danger to real musicians. So, I better agree with some experts who think that it looks like AI technology should be limited," he joked.
Eross further argues that it takes everyone's wisdom to take advantage of the AI's very rapid development of today.

"Everyone can access technology. There are people who are responsible and not in use of it. It's the same as social media, right, if it is used for irresponsible things, it will backfire too," he explained.
For information, in the global music industry, one of the albums by AI which has also shocked the virtual world recently is The Lost Tapes of the band landscape Aisis. The band is none other than the perfect clone of the legendary British supergroup Oasis, one of the bands admired by Eross Candra.
Oasis, who was headed by two brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, has been disbanded since 2009 and has never returned to a reunion until now. Even so, currently there is a strong issue about the possibility of reuniting the band of the pride of the city of Manchester.
The discourse surfaced due to the success of football club Manchester City in winning the Champions League, which became one of the nazars of vocalist Liam Gallagher to rebuild the old Oasis dynasty.
Eross, who participated in Oasis' development, admitted that he did not really expect Noel and Liam to reunite within the framework of Oasis. Even so, he is very confident that in the future the two brothers will get back together and hold a band reunion that produces dozens of hits including Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger", "D'You Know What I Mean, Whatever, and Roll With It".
"It seems that now it is still difficult (the Oasis reunion), tug of war. Liam said before City won, he wanted to call his brother. Then Noel also challenged Liam to call. But after City won, Liam changed his mind. It's still like that, two people. Just look at the two antiques later, we can definitely reunite," concluded Eross.
