JAKARTA - Lady rocker is aging, Tina Turner died at the age of 83. No less than Elton John, Mick Jagger, lost Wood, happened Harry, and Garbage paid tribute to the singer of The Best.
"Tina Turner, 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll' died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness at her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland," Tina's representative said in a statement released May 24 local time.
'With him, the world has lost its musical legend and role model.'
In a longer post shared on the singer's social media, a statement read: It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tina Turner. With her unlimited music and passion for life, she captivates millions of fans around the world and inspires future stars.
"Today we say goodbye to a good friend who left us all his biggest work: his music. All of our sincere compassion is addressed to his family. Tina, we will miss you so much."
This American music icon was born with the name Anna Mae totaling in Nutbush, Tennessee, famous for the song What's Love Got To Do With It, Private Dancer, and of course The Best.
In recent years, Tina has suffered from a number of health problems where she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and underwent a kidney transplant one year later.
Tina started her career by appearing with her husband as the music duo Ike & Tina Turner and became famous for songs like Proud Mary and River Deep, Mountain High.
She suffered domestic violence throughout her marriage before she left Ike in 1976 and started her solo career.
The singer won eight Grammy Awards through his long music career, and was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a solo artist. He was first awarded the honor with Ike in 1991.
