JAKARTA - The luxury electric vehicle manufacturer and high performance Verge Motorcycles made a breakthrough by providing Tesla charging for their motorcycles.

Recently, the Finnish manufacturer officially announced cooperation with Tesla for the use of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) network on its motor lineup.

Marko Lehtimaki, Verge's Chief Technology Officer, said that his party had followed discussions about the future of charging infrastructure with Tesla and would open up NACS charging standards.

Marko also said that the charging service is very important in the growth of Verge's two-wheeled vehicle. What's more, Verge is currently preparing to enter the US market which makes it the first motorcycle manufacturer to apply this service.

"We are preparing to enter the US market, and as an electric motorcycle, this decision seems to be a natural solution for us," Marko said.

US Verge Chief Operating Officer, Pekka Parnanen, also said that the charging service is very important for manufacturers. He said that his party wanted to make it easier for customers in the US by expanding the charging system in North America.

"We want Verge owners to have access to North America's widest fast charging system, which is why we plan to take advantage of Tesla's 17,000 charging station network," Pekka added.

By undergoing his partnership with Tesla regarding its charging, Verge has so far received a positive response. By adopting the service, it is an important step for manufacturers to dominate the US market.

Verge Motorcycles is the latest as well as the first two-wheeled manufacturer in collaboration with Tesla to use NACS services. Previously, four-wheeled manufacturers such as GM, Volvo, Rivian, and Ford first signed their partnerships with Tesla.
