JAKARTA - Iqbal Pakula's wife, Andiez La'Nuite, said Iqbal had been sentenced to heart disease since November 2022.
She added that since being sentenced to heart disease, Iqbal had surgery to install a heart ring in December and his condition had improved before finally, his heart disease worsened again.
"After installing the ring, there is a change but back again maybe because of complications of other diseases it will also be easy to drop," Andiez said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.
Andiez said that since the heart ring was installed Iqbal had reduced his working hours and refused several shooting offers. "He (Iqbal) has refused (shooting offer) because his condition is not fit and he is easily tired," said Andiez.
Even though it has reduced working hours and rejected several offers to act, Iqbal's family's financial condition is still sufficient to support them because Andiez also supports them.
Since suffering from heart disease Iqbal often complains that he is easily tired, shortness of breath, and sometimes his chest feels sick. Iqbal's appetite also decreased which made him lose 10 kilograms of weight.
Iqbal's condition got worse during the takbiran night and was immediately rushed to Siloam Semanggi Hospital, East Jakarta. He received intensive care and finally breathed his last on Tuesday morning at 02.32.
Actor Iqbal Pakula was buried on Tuesday at 13.00 at the Menteng Pulo Public Cemetery (TPU), South Jakarta. The funeral was also attended by several artist friends such as Teuku Wisnu, Dude Herlino, Beby Romeo, Meisya Siregar, Bemby Putuanda, Indra Brasco, to Mona Ratuliu.
