Geomarin III Ship Brings KESDM Team And Pertamina To The Oil And Gas Basin Survey In Bone Waters

JAKARTA - Geomarin III Ships and the Survey Team of the Public Service Agency of the Center for Marine Geological Survey and Mapping (BLU BBSPGL) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) will sail to the waters of Bone, South Sulawesi. The team will carry out self-management of data acquisition of the geochemical survey of the Macroseepage offshorebone Sulawesi for approximately 48 days.

Secretary of the Geological Agency Siti Sumilah Rita Susilawati explained that the survey team chaired by Subarsyah with full support by the Captain of the Geomarin Ship III Mr. Sukarya and the entire crew will carry out survey work to support the implementation of Pertamina Hulu Energi's duties in Bone Sulawesi.

"The work of this survey is in collaboration with our main partner, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE). This is an honor for us BLU BBSPGL The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources can provide survey services to support the implementation of Pertamina Hulu Energi's duties in a survey of potential oil and gas in Indonesian waters," Rita explained to the media quoted on Tuesday, July 18.

He added that the cooperation in this survey activity began with the exploration of the BBSPGL BLU team with PHE until the signing of the contract on June 6, 2023 in Jakarta. Then carried out a series of Pre Kick Off Meetings and Kick Off Meetings until the release of the Geomarin III Ship and the BBSPGL BLU Survey Team with PHE.

Head of BBSPGL Geological Agency, P. Hadi Wijaya revealed that the work of Swakelola Acquisition of the Microseepage Offshore Bone Geochemical Survey is a form of collaboration and Service for BLU BSPGL Maritime Geological Services to our Main Partner, Pertamina Hulu Energi and this survey work is the second work of BLU BBSPGL with PHE.

"In 2019 we carried out geochemical oil and gas survey services in Matindok waters. This PHE survey work is the second survey work on a Geomarin III ship in 2023 and will be the year to achieve performance with the highest revenue of BLU BBSPGL from previous years," said Hadi.

He said the survey work service had been well prepared after the Geomarin III ship finished serving the BLU survey work with PT BSI to support PT Freeport Indonesia's activities in Timika waters, Papua.

The Geomarin III Research Vessel is an advanced survey vessel belonging to the BBSPGL Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Geomarin III, which was made by the domestic industry of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), began operating in 2008 and has sailed waters from Sabang to Merauke.

The ship, which has a length of 61.70 meters and a width of 12 meters, is a multipurpose vessel, which can be used for hydrography, oceanography, geological, and geophysics mapping.

Geomarin III is also equipped with a dynamic positioning system (DPS)/DP-1 facility, namely a movement maneuver system relative to the underwater sensor movement during remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operation and absolute stationary position when taking samples of the seabed, current measurements, and sea waves.
