President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi said that this number grew by 27 percent compared to the May 2022 period which reached 4,921,407 passenger movements.
Growth also occurred in the number of aircraft movements with a total of 49,865 movements, or grew by 4 percent compared to the movement of aircraft in May 2022 which was 48,177 movements.
"Thank God, in May 2023, Angkasa Pura I will again continue its positive record of passenger and aircraft movement traffic growth," he said in an official statement, Friday, June 9.
"One thing that needs to be highlighted specifically is that the number of passenger movements in May 2023 is the highest monthly passenger number at 15 of our airports since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020," he continued.
Still, said Faik, when compared to the monthly average number of passengers in 2019 which reached 6.79 million passengers, the recovery rate or recovery rate for the number of passengers in May 2023 has reached 92 percent.

Faik said with the additional number of passengers in May 2023, cumulatively Angkasa Pura I has served 26,973,511 passenger movements from January to May 2023.
This number grew by 49 percent compared to the number of passenger movements in the same period in 2022 which reached 18,125,688 passenger movements.
In this period, Angkasa Pura I airport, which serves the largest passenger movements, is Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with 7,817,316 movements, with details of 3,638,822 passengers on domestic routes and 4,178,494 passengers on international routes.
The second order is Juanda Airport Surabaya with 5,578,225 passenger movements, with details of 4,788,957 passengers on domestic routes and 789,268 passengers on international routes.
In third place is Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar with 4,232,601 passenger movements, with details of 4,082,138 passengers on domestic routes and 150,463 passengers on international routes.
