SURABAYA - Through its innovation work Reprotect, PT PLN (Persero) East Java Distribution Main Unit won a silver medal at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2023 which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, some time ago.
"This award is the result of the hard work and dedication of our team as well as the spirit of strong change at PLN," said General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) UID East Java Lasiran in his statement, in Surabaya, Saturday.
Lasiran hopes that through this innovation, it can grow an innovation climate that will continue to bring improvement to the quality of PLN's services and reliability in the future.

Reprotect is a unit of tool that functions as a safety for Measurement and Restrictions (APP) from potential misuse of irresponsible persons.
Reprotect is permanently installed on APP distribution substations and panels and operates in real-time sending data on servers and providing information in the form of notifications in case of anomalous conditions that can cause company losses.
"Reprotect is a new smart system lock for PLN, especially to maintain the security of transaction points between PLN and consumers, which so far have a potential loss to corporations," said one of the innovators Muhammad Syaifuddin.
Furthermore, Syaifuddin said that the background for making this innovation was the discovery of 34 violations on the APP panel committed by irresponsible persons. This is what underlies the creation of a sophisticated lockdown system to ensure transaction points remain fair, safe and well monitored.
"This innovation is able to send notifications when there is an anomaly of the measurement system and improve the APP access management process equipped with Id-card authorization and integrated face detection in android applications and server web. With this notification, it will accelerate the findings of potential loss of kWh due to abnormalities or violations committed by individuals," concluded Syaifuddin.
