JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said, ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2023, millions of Indonesians will go home to gather with their families in their respective hometowns.
In this year's Eid al-Fitr, the number of travelers is predicted to increase significantly.
"In the near future, millions of people go home to their hometowns. Everyone likes to gather with their parents, relatives, and toll roads celebrating the day of victory," wrote President Jokowi on his Instagram account @jokowi, quoted Friday, April 21.
The President advised all Indonesian people to go home for any purpose, to prioritize safety.
"Wherever you go, with any vehicle, my message is only one: prioritize safety," he wrote.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had returned to his hometown in Solo, Central Java, in Lebaran 2023.
President Jokowi's homecoming is known from the upload of the Instagram account of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir.
In his upload, Erick together with the Acting Governor of DKI Heru Budi Hartono took the President to the airport.
