25 TNI Health Workers Again Departed To Egypt To Help Gaza Refugees
The Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) has again dispatched 25 TNI health workers (nakes) to continue their humanitarian mission to care for Gaza refugees on a floating hospital ship belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that docked at El Arish Port, Egypt.
The group joined in the departure of wave II of TNI health workers to El Arish, some of whom will also continue their humanitarian mission to care for Gaza refugees directly in conflict areas at the UAE Field Hospital in Rafah, Gaza.
Head of the Defense Information Bureau (Infohan)/Humas Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Frega F. Wenas Inkiriwang explained that the group of TNI wave II health workers had left for Abu Dhabi, UAE, from Denpasar, Bali, today.
"When they arrive in Abu Dhabi, they may be on December 17, 2024 in the morning. Planned for December 18, 2024, they will join forces to carry out their duties at the floating hospital in El Arish, Egypt," Brigadier General Frega said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 18.
In El Arish, as many as 25 TNI health workers who are members of the first wave have returned to their homeland on December 8, 2024.
"Currently they have returned to their respective units," said the Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense.
Meanwhile, he continued that currently there are still 10 TNI health workers in El Arish. The plan, they will return to Indonesia on December 22, 2024.
A few days before the 2nd batch of TNI health workers departed, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin gave briefing and direction.
In the briefing session, Defense Minister Sjafrie emphasized that the humanitarian task at El Arish was an important mission related to humanity and was also Indonesia's effort to realize peace in Gaza.
"This is the duty of the state. It is not only the task of individuals or units, but the duty of the state. Your demands as TNI soldiers are quite large," said Defense Minister Sjafrie.

Sjafrie hopes that all the personnel of the second batch of TNI health workers can complete their duties well, and return to Indonesia safely and safely.
