The Construction Of The Pamukkulu Dam In South Sulawesi Is Targeted To Be Completed By The End Of 2023
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Water Resources targets the construction of the Pamukkulu Dam in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), to be completed by the end of December 2023.
This Concrete Face Rockfill Dam (CFRD) Dam has an effective capacity of 77 million cubic meters (m3) and an inundation area of 460 hectares (ha).
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the Pamukkulu Dam was built to increase water supply for agricultural land in South Sulawesi Province as one of the national food barns.
"In South Sulawesi there is still a stretch of rice fields above 3,000 ha that are difficult to find in other areas. We increase its productivity with the availability of water from the dam," Minister Basuki said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, July 29.
On the same occasion, Head of the Pompengan BBWS Center, Jeneberang Djaya Sukarno, said that the Pamukkulu Dam is projected to be able to serve 6,188 ha of irrigation and increase the Agricultural Index (IP) from 183 percent to 250 percent.
Then, the benefits of raw water with a capacity of 160 liters/second, the potential for a 4.3 MW hydroelectric power plant and also flood control in Takalar Regency.
"Currently, the progress reaches 68 percent. The contract is until December 2024, but we are trying to accelerate the completion with a work pattern of 3 shifts. So, hopefully it will be completed in December 2023," said Djaya.
The Pamukkulu Dam was carried out with a total budget of IDR 1.6 trillion through 2 work packages. Package 1 of work in the form of right and left back, drilling of plinth budgets, quarantine areas carried out by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) - PT Daya Mulia Turangga (KSO) with a budget of IDR 935.49 billion.

As for package 2, the work in the form of inlet, outlet, tunnel inversion, tunnel crown, spillway, plinth, intake, and SR installation were carried out by PT Nindya Karya with a budget of Rp891.93 billion. The supervision consultant was carried out by Indra Karya - Virama Karya - Bina Karya.
After conducting a review of the construction of the Pamukkulu Dam, Minister Basuki advised the implementers to always pay attention to the implementation of the work carefully and carefully.
"The work is good. Please maintain it and always supervise it. If there is a problem, report it immediately so that it can be handled immediately. December 2023 must be completed," he added.
