Collaborating With LPSK, NTB Police Proposes State To Pay Victim Restitution 29 TIP Cases
NTB - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police are fighting for the restitution fund for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who are victims of 29 cases of the crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO).
"We have handled these 29 TIP cases since early 2023," said Head of the Sub-Directorate for Youth, Children and Women (Renakta) of the NTB Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Ni Made Pujawati in Mataram, NTB, Thursday 27 July, which was confiscated by Antara.
He explained that his party was fighting for the restitution fund for victims of the TIP case by asking for the support of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
"From LPSK, which will calculate the losses of TIP victims. The results will be in the form of value (money) which we will include in the case file," he said.
He said that his party was fighting for the restitution fund for TIP victims in accordance with the rules contained in Article 48 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of TIP.
Pujawati also conveyed that the restitution funds were in the form of compensation for income, suffering, physical and psychological maintenance costs, and other losses due to trafficking in persons.
These rights, he explained, have been outlined in Article 48 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of TIP.

Of the 29 TIP cases, he continued, LPSK has calculated 24 of them. The remaining 5 cases are currently in the process of compiling files for submission materials to LPSK.
Furthermore, Pujawati said that there were several victims in the TIP case. If calculated, the number of victims from 29 TIP cases will reach tens of people.
He also emphasized that his party did not apply for restitution funds for all victims of the TIP case. Instead, the submission of victims who are entitled to the compensation fund must look at the existing rules.
"So, not all victims receive restitution funds. It depends on what is approved by LPSK. That can be seen from the rules, one of which is related to the losses incurred," he said.
The compensation value of the victim's restitution fund also varies depending on the losses suffered during his time as a victim of TIP.
"Some received Rp. 3 million, some received up to tens of millions," he said.
