No Justification For Problematic KKN Student Groups

The problematic real Work Lecture narration (KKN) has colored the mass media universe. It all started with a group of Padang State University (UNP) students who insulted the KKN facility. Then, the latest one, a Mataram University (Unram) student, offended the local community.

In fact, this action brought deep disappointment. Even though the KKN is a phase where students write themselves and help the general public. This phenomenon clearly requires more attention so that it doesn't happen again. What is that?

Recently, social media has been shocked by a number of UNP students who are currently KKN in Bungus, Kabung Bay, Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra). Their action made content provoke the anger of local residents.

Instead of spreading the good news, UNP students actually insinuated the facilities where the KKN took place. The satire was present through content on social media which has gone viral since Monday, June 26. The focus of satire is directed by UNP students to lack of water where they are staying.

The satire caused a polemic. Local residents immediately expelled UNP students who were considered to have brought many harm, rather than benefits.

"Where are you taking the semester off? Where are you playing, KKN. Where are you KKN? Tanah Datar, Fifty Cities? Please, no water, take a shower in the prayer room. Expelled? Don't pay too," said a number of students in the video.

Regarding UNP students who expelled residents not yet dim, the problematic KKN reappeared. It all started with a student with the initials NWAP from Unram who made video content that offended residents of Kayangan Village, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) a few days ago.

The video he uploaded on Instagram touched on local residents by saying that none of the residents of Kayangan Village were beautiful. The content that alluded to it went viral. The anger of local residents is unbearable. The expulsion was carried out because residents considered the student unable to maintain the order.

"Yes, it is true (the eviction), the local community was offended because the content made in question was NWAP. Those who came home (expelled) were only those who made the content, they were picked up by their families directly last night. This is to maintain order in the community," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of North Lombok, I Made Sukadana, as quoted by Detik.com, July 24.

The phenomenon of problematic KKN has attracted the attention of the whole country. Disappointment of the general public has also emerged. Disappointment stems from the lack of maturity of students when perpetuating KKN.

The former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) NTB, Gendewa Tunas Rancak, is concerned. He did not justify an act that interfered with the purity' of the KKN. KKN is actually considered a powerful lesson for students to come down to serve the village or city community and bring about change.

Students should be able to take advantage of KKN to be creative and work together to provide solutions for problems that exist at the location. Not even perpetuate things that harm the public.

The man who is familiarly called Dewa also asked the existing universities to re-enhancing his role in regulating and controlling the KKN. From controlling various activities to determining the final results. All of this must be tied up with the cooperation between universities and where the KKN is implemented.

The study is for students who are ready for KKN to have important provisions. As a result, students understand better which limits may be perpetuated, and which ones cannot.

There are two important provisions.

"Next, campuses and KKN groups are competing to produce new and good outputs which must then go viral. So, there are strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), monitoring and controlling between collaboration patterns for educational institutions and places for KKN or villages, sub-districts, or cities," explained Dewa as contacted by VOI, July 25.

It was the big role of universities that then led to a good collaboration and integration. Student groups from various fields of science can do a lot to the community.

Harmonization is what makes students and local residents village and city - have an inner bond. Like close family. Students respect society and vice versa. The local community will appreciate every student's work that is perpetuated in the KKN.

Everything boils down to harmonization. Universities represented by KKN students can do maximum service to beneficiaries, in this case, are village or city communities. So, the pattern is clearly well integrated and then indeed he is well coordinated, finally becoming something useful.

The simple question is why the viral KKN is problematic. In fact, we have seen a lot of successful KKN out there. Or in the mass media, youtube that many KKN do bring great benefits to the needs of the people in the interior. In Maluku, Papua, NTT, and others," concluded Dewa.
