BPOM Bengkulu Failed Circulation Of 113 Illegal Drug Brands Worth IDR 130 Million
BENGKULU - Bengkulu Food and Drug Supervision Center (BPOM) thwarted the circulation of illegal drugs from 113 drug brands with an estimated sale of Rp130 million.
Hundreds of illegal drug brands come from Mukomuko Regency and currently the BPOM continues to investigate the circulation of illegal drugs in the Bengkulu Province.
"BPOM officers confiscated 113 drug brands consisting of traditional herbal medicine, coffee and itching errors and the drug was found in Mukomuko Regency," said BPOM Bengkulu Action Expert Oktar Tamba, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 23.
He said that the confiscation of hundreds of illegal drug brands began with reports from the public who were worried about seeing drugs that did not have permits to circulate freely on the market.
During the investigation, BPOM Bengkulu also asked for information from two witnesses and a car.
"Based on the results of checking the distribution number in the product packaging, it was found that the drug was illegal because it did not have a BPOM distribution permit," he said.
The head of the Bengkulu BPOM Enforcement Team, Pupa Feshirawan, based on the identity and number of the confiscated cars, it is known that the drug was supplied from the city of Padang, West Sumatra and sold freely without legality to traders in Bengkulu Province.
"Of the 113 drug brands confiscated, the average type of drug offered is strong drugs," he said.
