Get Ready, ChatGPT Apps For Android Available Next Week

JAKARTA - After pledging to launch the ChatGPT app for Android at its launch for iOS two months ago, OpenAI finally announced that the ChatGPT app for Android is available next week.

"Announcing ChatGPT for Android! This app will roll out to users next week, and you can order upfront on the Google Play Store starting today," OpenAI wrote on Twitter.

In addition, the Google Play list is also active, and users can pre-register to download it as soon as the app is officially launched.

However, it is not clear whether this application will initially only be available in the US such as the iPhone application or not, but according to VOI's monitoring, users in Indonesia can register for downloads on the Play Store now.

To date, Android users can access ChatGPT only through a browser, and may have to look at a fairly complicated site interface. Well, with the presence of this app, it means that the ChatGPT interface will be optimized for mobile. In addition, there will also be features tailored to users on the platform.

iOS users, for example, have the support to integrate with Siri and Shortcut last June. They can also create a ChatGPT request in Shortcut and save it as a link to be sent to friends.

On the other hand, OpenAI recently started testing a new participation feature for ChatGPT Plus subscribers that provides AI chatbot continuous memory. With this feature, chatbots will remember who users are in all conversations.

This feature is designed to work across platforms, meaning paid Android users will most likely see a sustainable memory in their app when it launches.
