North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Detains Corruption Suspect For Silangit-Muara Road Project

The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has detained three suspects on suspicion of corruption in the construction of the Silangit-Muara Road at the National Implementation Center for Region II of North Sumatra Province worth IDR 466,437,818 in the 2019 Fiscal Year.

"The three suspects detained have the initials IS as PPK (commitment-making official), HN as field supervisor, and LPHS as Director of PT DML," said Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the North Sumatra Attorney General's Office Yos A Tarigan in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.

"The position of the case is that in 2019 the Center for the Implementation of National Roads for Region II North Sumatra has carried out the Silangit-Muara Road Development activities with a budget of IDR 15,601,242,000 in the 2019 Fiscal Year," said Yos.

According to him, the construction work of Jalan Silangit' Muara along the 6.5 km carried out by the three defendants had changed Contracts on the construction of Jalan Silangit-Muara Cs from 6.5 km to 4 km.

"Based on field inspections together with a team from the University of North Sumatra, PPK, contractors, and supervisory consultants for the construction work of Jalan Silangit - Muara have obtained at least two pieces of evidence related to cases of alleged corruption," he said.

"The alleged corruption was carried out in the implementation of the Silangit - Muara Road construction activity at the Center for the Implementation of National Road Region II of North Sumatra Province for Fiscal Year 2019," he said.

The three suspects have been subjected to a medical examination with the results being declared healthy at the North Sumatra Attorney General's Office of Pratama Adhyaksa Clinic.

"So the suspects will be detained for the next 20 days starting from July 21, 2023 to August 9, 2023 and deposited at the Class I State Detention Center Tanjung Gusta Medan," said Yos.
