618 TIP Handled By The Ministry Of Social Affairs, Some Cases Occur In NTT

JAKARTA - Director General of Social Protection and Security (Linjamsos) of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) RI Ruben Rico said that there were 618 victims of the People's Trade Crime (TPPO) who had been handled at the Ministry of Social Affairs' hall for rehabilitation. "In total, as of today there are 618 victims who we have placed at the center and the Ministry of Social Affairs center, because of our responsibilities, namely in terms of handling the process of rehabilitation and social empowerment due to TPPO," said Ruben as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 21. He revealed, after an assessment was carried out, the main problems of TIP did start from the low economic level and the poverty factor of the victims. The victims mostly came from East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, East Java, West Java, Central Java, and Central Sulawesi. "In addition to returning the victims, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also resolved several problems, including making debt payments, as well as empowerment of entrepreneurship, because on average the victims were trapped in the lure of money to then sell their organs," he said. The Ministry of Social Affairs also helps in terms of health, namely including them (the victims) in the program Recipient of the National Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JKN) so that those concerned can get health insurance. "Then, we also provide assistance for life because the positions of the victims on average have sold property for departure and debt, we have already provided assistance for their daily food needs," he said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs will also carry out the vocational training process in the hope that these victims will no longer be trapped in the lure that will plunge them into TIP. "Indeed, the main thing we have to do is how to eradicate them from poverty, so that it is not easy to be deceived in the economic field," said Ruben Rico.
