RIAU - Pekanbaru City Police destroyed 5.1 kilograms (kg) of crystal methamphetamine and 1,836 ecstasy pills of evidence (barbuk) a number of cases revealed in the past month.

Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Pol Jefri Ronald Parulian said the destruction of the barbuk was blended and then mixed with bleach.

Based on the confessions of the suspects, the methamphetamine was obtained from a man with the initials A. Suspect A is still being chased by the police.

Another case revealed by the Pekanbaru Police regarding the circulation of methamphetamine involved suspects with the initials Y, F and H.

Initially Y was arrested in front of SMP 23 Pekanbaru who claimed to have received the methamphetamine from F.

After the development, F was arrested together with his colleague with the initials H. At H's house, digital scales were found and 19 packages of crystal methamphetamine were stored in a cake can and piled in sand behind the house.

Jefri said this destruction was carried out in line with the ongoing legal process. The goal is not to do things outside of unwanted procedures.

"The available evidence can be destroyed, but part of it is set aside as evidence at trial," he said.
