Ioniq 6 Towards The Indonesian Market? Here's Hyundai's Answer

JAKARTA - After success with Ioniq 5, Hyundai has presented Ioniq 6, an electric-powered sedan that will be an important part of their efforts to support environmentally friendly mobility.

Although they have succeeded in achieving success in the global market, Ioniq 6 has not been officially marketed in Indonesia. However, Indonesian electric car lovers certainly hope to immediately experience the advanced performance and technology possessed by this car.

Astrid Ariani Wijana, Head of the Marketing Department of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), has not provided complete information about the presence of Ioniq 6 in Indonesia. However, he promised an interesting surprise that Hyundai would reveal later.

"We ask for patience from consumers. When we provide information, we want to give a positive surprise. Ioniq 6 is one of the most popular electric cars globally, and we will definitely provide more information in time. Please be patient waiting," Astrid said when interviewed by the media at SCBD on Monday, July 17.

Most likely, Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be present in Indonesia in the near future. The Hyundai manufacturer has registered the sedan on the Motor Vehicle Selling Value (NKJB) website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Regional Revenue Agency.

According to the NKJB website, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV 4X$ AT has a value of around IDR 696 million. This price is more affordable than the SUV's brother, Ioniq 5, which sells for IDR 748 million.

Keep in mind that the prices listed on the NKJB website do not cover all sales taxes such as BBNKB, PPh, VAT, and others. So that the actual price may be different when this car is marketed in Indonesia.

Although not yet officially launched, Hyundai Ioniq 6 was actually exhibited in Indonesia last March. PT HMID introduced this EV sedan at Hyundai Motorstudio located at Senayan Park, Central Jakarta.

Ioniq 6 has also been present in neighboring countries, such as the Philippines, with the GLS 2WD Long Range variant which is valued at around 3.7 million pesos or around Rp. 1 billion. This price is higher than those listed on the NKJB website.

To provide an overview, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 GLS 2WD is equipped with a magnetic synchronous permanent electric motor with 225 dk power and 350 Nm torque. The battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh lithium-ion which allows this car to reach a distance of up to 545 km in one charge.

Ioniq 6 is also equipped with fast charging technology using DC fast charging which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
