Cianjur Regency Government Asks Centers To Help Development Of Post-Employment Damaged Schools
The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, has asked central government officials to help accelerate the construction of schools damaged by earthquakes in a number of sub-districts that are not included in priority so that the teaching and learning process in early 2024 is no longer in tents.
Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman in Cianjur Saturday, said that currently only 24 schools have been completed by the Ministry of PUPR with details of 1 Junior High School and 23 Elementary Schools, while the remaining 110 schools are still in process and are in the submission stage.
"We ask for assistance from the Central Government to be able to assist in the construction of schools that are not included in the priority due to the limitations of the Cianjur Regional Budget, we have coordinated with BNPB in submitting to the Center," he said.
So far, more than 80 schools damaged by the earthquake have not received development priorities and have been handed over to the Cianjur Regency Government.
However, the budget is very limited and has been used to repair damaged classrooms, not due to the earthquake.
He hopes that the request can be granted by the central government so that the teaching and learning process in early 2024 is no longer carried out in a tent, but is already in class, just like in other schools.
"We hope that at the beginning of next year there will be no students studying in the tent, so that they can undergo the teaching and learning process calmly and comfortably," he said.

The principal of the Panjaweuyan State Elementary School, Ani Muharyani, hopes that eight classrooms and teacher rooms damaged by the earthquake can be repaired immediately, but until now, his party has not received confirmation so that the semester-end exam process is carried out in a tent.
"Our hope is that it will be built soon because the school's damage is currently getting worse especially after a fairly strong aftershock some time ago. Because there is no certainty that the new school year for students is still studying in the tent," he said.
