XL7 Hybrid Sells 1,000 More Units, Suzuki Targets 12,000 Units By The End Of 2023

JAKARTA - Suzuki has launched their newest SUV, the XL7 Hybrid, in Indonesia in June. This car has received a positive response from the public since it was first introduced. Noted, the XL7 Hybrid has sold more than 1,000 units in recent weeks since its launch.

"Since its launch, we have seen positive indications. For two weeks, from June 15 to June 30, we have delivered more than 1,000 units, and more than 1,700 units have been sent to dealers," said Harold Donnel Tampubolon, Head of Brand Development & Marketing Research. 4W PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 5.

Harold also stated that sales and shipments in the first two weeks were going well even though competition in the automotive industry in Indonesia was very tight. However, their target is to achieve sales of 12,000 units by the end of 2023.

"As we said at the previous New XL7 Hybrid launch, we have a target of around 12,000 units by December 2023, or about 2,000 units per month," he added.

He also explained that of the 1,700 units sent to the dealers, the Alpha and Beta variants dominated by contributing as much as 80 percent. This is because of several factors that make these variants in demand by many people.

"Because this is a Medium SUV that is in accordance with community characteristics, has a high ground clearance of about 200 millimeters, and can accommodate 7 passengers. That is the main reason for people to buy," explained Harold.

According to Harold, with the presence of a hybrid system in this SUV, consumer mobility needs can be met. What's more, people's interest in environmentally friendly vehicles is very high.

"They feel they have a more prestigious image with a hybrid emblem on the back of the car. We also have a very positive response to the use of the new color on the New XL7 Hybrid," added Harold.

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is equipped with environmentally friendly SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle) technology, including two main components, namely the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and lithium-ion batteries that help the performance of the 1,500 cc engine with the K15B code.

This K15B 1,500 cc 4-cylinder engine is capable of generating up to 103.2 dk of power and 138 Nm of torque. To save fuel, XL7 Hybrid is equipped with an auto start-stop engine feature. This feature is useful so that car users do not produce emissions in vain during the trip.

The XL7 Hybrid, which is a competitor to Hyundai Creta, is sold starting from IDR 283 million. This car is available in three variants, namely Alpha, Beta, and Zeta, with attractive color choices.

The Alpha variant is equipped with colors New Savanna Ivory, Black, and Snow White Pearl. While the Beta and Zeta variants are available in Metallic Magma Gray, Pearl Brave Khaki, Snow White Pearl, and Cool Black.
